Having found out the history of the house and something about the people who lived there before you, it often makes your house more interesting. Selling your house with some history whilst it may not sell your house any quicker it will certainly get a few more prospective purchasers coming to look.
Perhaps something happened at your house or someone important to the community lived there or even visited the house. Has your house got a house name rather than a number? Do you know the origins of the name, this is a nother interesting dimension to your house history.
OK, you will tell me that your house is not that old - but what was on the site before your house. You may find that your house is built in a field that once belonged to the nearby 'big house'.
The West Yorkshire Archives Newstead Road Wakefield have precised copies of all West Riding deeds dating back from c1970 to about 1704. Appointments have to be made to view these documents.
Is there something interesting about your house ?
