Philip Catelinet b: 3, 12. 1910 d: 21.11.1995 Educated at Gregg Business College, music scholarships to Trinity College of Music in London & Tobias Matthay Pianoforte School, also in London. Trained as a pianist, he became an arranger for the Salvation Army penned over 100 vocal & instrumental pieces just for the Army. He taught himself to play the tuba & euphonium.

He auditioned as a tubist for several British conductors & became the principal tubist for the BBC Theatre Orchestra & performed with the LSO & Philharmonia Orchestras as well.

Vaughan Williams asked him and the LSO to premiere his new tuba concerto at the orchestra's Jubilee Concert. This took place at the Royal Festival Hall on 13.06, 1954.

He was an active member of the Salvation Army, in the UK and USA. Following his retirement in 1976, he and his wife returned to the UK from USA. He was a composer, arranger, adjudicator and writer.
